We have a block of rooms for a discounted rate of $109 per room at the DoubleTree South Bend. There will be a shuttle to and from this hotel before the ceremony and at the end of the reception. The post wedding brunch will be at the hotel on January 1st.

South Bend is in northwest Indiana, about 20 minutes south of Michigan, 45 minutes east of Lake Michigan, and 90 minutes east of Chicago, Illinois.

There are lots of different airports to fly into. The South Bend Airport (SBN) is the closest, but it is a smaller airport. There are daily direct flights to and from Minneapolis (for those traveling in from MSP). The largest and closest airports would be Chicago - O'Hare (ORD), Chicago - Midway (MDW), Indianapolis (IND), Fort Wayne (FWA), Grand Rapids (GRR), and Detroit (DTW).

“Black tie optional” is confusing! We get that. Black-tie optional weddings are slightly less formal than nuptials with black-tie attire, so they allow for a little more flexibility in the formality of guests' ensembles. With this dress code, tuxedos aren't required, but men can still wear a tux if desirable. Otherwise, they can select a formal suit and tie. For women, floor-length gowns are still encouraged, but cocktail dresses are completely acceptable.
